It has its merits. There is a funny moment when the girl's "daddy figure" and the "boyfriend figure" have a bullet-load-up competition. At the climax, there is an emotional line, "Kyle Reese, protect my Sarah."<br /><br />I guess the change in the story patterns didn't bother me.
